This remote region has sparse human population but is a densley populated wildlife region so the silence is broken only by the call of the wild.

We pause in the early afternoon for a break and lunch, prepared by our camp assistant, on one of the islands punctuating the river. We find a shady spot to take a welcome break from the heat of the day and relax for an hour or two.

Refreshed we paddle on to our camp for the night, a short distance away.

There’s still time in the day for a spot of fishing, to take a guided walk, visit locals in a nearby village or just relax by the pool.

After dinner served at the lodge, we relax around the campfire under unpolluted black skies shimmering with constellations of stars.
