Itinerary for this Tour

DAY 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara & Ol Kinyei Conservancy – Kenya

This short Masai Mara Fly-in Safari begins with a scheduled flight from the Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Ol Seki Naboisho Airstrip near Masai Mara.

At about 10h00 you fly out of Nairobi, reaching Ol Seki Naboisho Airstrip by about 11h00. Upon arrival you are met by the camp’s driver who transfers you to the bush camp in Ol Kinyei Conservancy. Entering the private conservancy the game viewing adventure begins before we even reach the mobile camp.

We settle in and have a fresh lunch before setting off on a late afternoon game drive in Ol Kinyei. Driving in the open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle you are immersed in the unspoilt bush, where we are sure to encounter a variety of fascinating wild animals. Along the way we stop at a scenic location for sundowners to the backdrop of a beautiful African sunset over the savannahs.

After sunset we return to the eco-camp for a hearty dinner and a laid-back evening around the campfire. Fall asleep under star-studded skies in the wilderness of Kenya.

DAY 02: Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies – Kenya

The whole of day two is dedicated to game viewing in the exclusive Ol Kinyei and Naboisho conservancies of the Masai Mara ecosystem. These are two of the finest wildlife areas in Kenya, offering superb game viewing away from the crowds. The game drives are conducted in specially adapted 4×4 safari vehicles with open sides, providing unobstructed photographic opportunities. The highly skilled and qualified local guides take you in search of the prolific wildlife of Mara, sharing their knowledge of the flora and fauna with you as you explore.

At the end of our rewarding day of game viewing, we return to the bush camp for a relaxing evening.

DAY 03: Ol Kinyei & Masai Mara to Nairobi – Kenya

Wake up to the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush this morning. Early this morning we embark on a final 4×4 game drive or a bush walk in Ol Kinyei Conservancy.

Walking with a skilled Maasai guide in the near-pristine Ol Kinyei Conservancy is an exhilarating experience as we may come across large herbivores and predators. After our game drive or walk we have breakfast back at the mobile camp surrounded by nature.

Then we leave the eco-camp, driving back to the Ol Seki Naboisho Airstrip for our scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Taking off at 11h00, we arrive back at the Wilson Airport at about 12h15, bringing our exceptional wildlife adventure in the Masai Mara ecosystem to a close.

About Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies

Ol Kinyei Conservancy is an award-winning private wildlife area owned by the local Maasai community. The wildlife conservancy covers about 65km² of unspoilt bush and is known for its beautiful scenery and diverse landscapes. Ol Kinyei is inhabited by a large number of mammals, amongst other animals and birds. The conservancy hosts health populations of big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs), as well as plenty of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and other herbivores. The Great Wildebeest Migration passes through Ol Kinyei Conservancy between June and October, making it an ideal place to catch one of the most spectacular wildlife phenomena on earth.

The Ol Kinyei Conservancy was the first community-owned conservancy established in the Mara ecosystem. The local Maasai run the conservancy and work as guides, conducting top-quality bush walks and game drives.

The 200km² Naboisho Conservancy is also a private wildlife area, formed by Maasai landowners. The conservancy borders on Masai Mara National Reserve, incorporating unspoilt savannah and bushveld terrains.

An abundance of elephants, giraffes and other plains game are found in Naboisho Conservancy, along with the sizeable predator populations these herbivores attract. There are in the region of 100 lions living in Naboisho, including the largest pride in the Mara region. During the Loita Migration wildebeest, zebras and many antelopes migrate from the Loita Plains to the Masai Mara Reserve, passing through Ol Kinyei Conservancy in about January. In February and March, Ol Kinyei Conservancy is teeming with wildebeest and other herbivores, as this is calving season. Next, the Loita Migration moves into the Naboisho Conservancy, before continuing into Olare Motorogi and then the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

About the Bush Camp in Ol Kinyei Conservancy

This small mobile safari camp offers eco-friendly tented accommodation in the private Ol Kinyei Conservancy. The bush camp is open during high season when the annual Wildebeest Migration takes place in the Mara ecosystem of Kenya. The camp has minimal impact on the natural environment as there are no permanent structures and the camp is dismantled after peak season.

The bush camp consists of just eight tents – five double and twin tents, and three single tents – creating an intimate and exclusive safari adventure. A tented dining area is set up at the rustic camp and an outdoor boma with a campfire.

Game viewing takes place in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, Naboisho Conservancy and the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp offers shared game drives in the mornings, afternoons and at night. Late afternoon game drives include a sundowner stop to watch the beautiful sunsets. The game drives are conducted in 4×4 vehicles adapted for safaris in the African bush. Expert Maasai guides also take guests on bush walks, sharing their knowledge of the flora and fauna along the way. Bush breakfasts and private game drives can also be arranged.

You have the option of spending a full day in Masai Mara National Reserve on day two, instead of Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies. Should you wish to visit Masai Mara National Reserve instead then the entrance fee of US$ 80 per person per day will apply as an additional charge. This option needs to be arranged beforehand, so please inform us when making your booking.
