Itinerary for this Tour

DAY 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara & Olare Motorogi Conservancy – Kenya

This Masai Mara & Private Reserves Fly-in Safari begins at the Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Boarding a scheduled flight at 10h00 you fly to the Ol Seki Naboisho Airstrip near Masai Mara. Touching down at the airstrip, at about 11h00, you are collected by a driver from the safari camp.

We head into the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, game viewing en route to Porini Mara Camp. Settle in and have lunch, before we embark on a sunset game drive in the private wildlife conservancy. Along the way we stop at a scenic spot to watch the sunset and enjoy sundowners in the bush. Then we drive back to the camp in our 4×4 vehicle for dinner and a relaxed evening around the campfire.

  • Dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.

DAY 02: Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies – Kenya

Today we explore the Ol Kinyei and Naboisho conservancies of the Mara ecosystem. These private wildlife areas are closed to the public, ensuring a crowd-free game viewing experience. We explore the wilderness in open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles shared between guests staying at the camp. The expert guides search out wildlife and help you to spot them in the bush, sharing their knowledge of local flora and fauna as you go.

At the end of the day we sit back around the campfire and enjoy being close to nature.

  • Full board accommodation at Porini Mara Camp.

DAY 03: Ol Kinyei, Naboisho & Olare Motorogi Conservancies

Day three begins with breakfast before we set off for our next camp in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Our transfer drive takes us through the private Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies, allowing us to sight wildlife and enjoy the scenery en route to Olare Motorogi.

We arrive at Porini Lion Camp in time for lunch and a rest before taking an afternoon game drive in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard) are commonly sighted in this private wildlife conservancy, along with many other big mammals. We should encounter few, if any, other safari vehicles out in the unspoilt Olare Motorogi Conservancy, bordering on Masai Mara.

We stop in the bush while out on the 4×4 game drive to enjoy sundowners and watch a spectacular sunset over the African wilderness. Then we return to our camp along the Ntiakatiak River, for dinner and chill-out time under the stars.

  • Overnight Porini Lion Camp.

DAY 04: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Kenya

On day four we explore the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve in our open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle. Visiting the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve we cross the rolling hills and open plains, sighting all kinds of animals, including herds of grazers and lazing big cats.

We take a picnic along with us, stopping for lunch in Masai Mara Reserve. Later we return to camp having experienced one of the best national parks on the continent. Back at Porini Lion Camp we tuck into a tasty dinner and enjoy a drink beside the campfire.

About Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies

Ol Kinyei Conservancy is a private wildlife conservancy encompassing 65km² of the Mara ecosystem in Kenya. This unspoilt wildlife conservancy is known for its beautiful scenery and diverse landscapes, hosting numerous large animals species. The conservancy is home to big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs), elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and lots of plains game. The Great Wildebeest Migration usually passes through Ol Kinyei between June and October, making it an ideal spot for witnessing this world-famous wildlife spectacle.

The Ol Kinyei Conservancy was the first community-owned conservancy established in the Mara region. The local Maasai guides are highly experienced and qualified, offering exceptional game drives and bush walks. Visitors can also experience Maasai culture in the community-run conservancy.

The Naboisho Conservancy borders on Masai Mara National Reserve, incorporating over 200km² of game-rich bushveld and savannahs. This private conservancy offers superb game viewing, hosting high numbers of elephants, giraffes and other plains game. The abundance of herbivores attracts healthy populations of predators. There are about 100 lions inhabiting Naboisho, including the largest pride in the Mara region.

During the Loita Migration wildebeest, zebras and other grazers migrate from the Loita Plains to Masai Mara passing through Ol Kinyei Conservancy in about January. In February and March the plains of Ol Kinyei Conservancy are teeming with wildebeest and other herbivores, as this is calving season. Then the Loita Migration travels into the Naboisho Conservancy before continuing into Olare Motorogi and finally Masai Mara Reserve.
