Stay at an intimate eco-friendly camp located in the unspoilt bush just outside of Kruger National Park. On the first evening, embark on a thrilling night game drive after a hearty South African style dinner. Then, spend the whole of day two exploring Kruger Park on open 4×4 game drives with your professional ranger. This personal safari experience also includes transfers from and to Johannesburg or Nelspruit, delicious breakfasts and dinners at the camp and comfortable tented accommodation.

Itinerary for this Tour

Day 1: Johannesburg to Eco Camp & Kruger National Park

At the start of our affordable 3-day Kruger Park Safari, you are collected from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and transferred to our eco-friendly camp near Kruger Park. Located on the border of the prestigious Sabi Sand Game Reserve, this small camp is only a 10-minute drive from one of the main entrances to Kruger National Park.

Arriving at our charming camp tucked away in the bush, you have some free time to settle in and enjoy a refreshing cold drink around the campfire or at the poolside. Then a delicious South African style dinner is served at the camp, followed by our first game viewing adventure.

First up – a 4×4 night game drive in the Kruger National Park! Being out in the untamed bush as darkness falls is a memorable experience characterised by beautiful changing hues and strange sounds as diurnal animals retreat and nocturnal species emerge with the coolness of night. We may spot elusive nocturnal creatures, such as porcupines, civets, honey badgers, genets, bats and owls in the enveloping darkness.

Back at the private eco-camp, your comfortable tented room awaits under starry skies.

Day 2: Full Day Kruger National Park Game Drive

Wake up to the warm morning light of the African bushveld around you and prepare for an exciting day in Kruger Park. After coffee and breakfast, we set off for South Africa’s premier game park – Kruger. Hosting sizeable populations of the famed Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo), this massive reserve offers world-class game viewing. Including the iconic Big Five, Kruger is inhabited by about 147 mammal species, along with the 114 species of reptiles, 507 bird species and an impressive array of amphibian, insect and plant species.

Your expert game ranger drives you through the diverse habitats of Kruger in an open 4×4 game viewing vehicle, searching out the fascinating creatures of this wild area. Along the way, you stop to observe the natural behaviour of birds and animals encountered and take photographs. Your guide shares interesting details and tales about the flora and fauna with you throughout the day. We take a lunch break at one of the rest camps which all feature shops and restaurants where you can purchase snacks, meals and drinks.

Tonight we sit back around the cosy campfire and enjoy a tasty dinner at camp, reliving the highlights of our wildlife adventure in Kruger.

Day 3: Greater Kruger to Panorama Route & Johannesburg

On the last morning of our 3-day Eco Camp Safari, you rise for coffee and a laid-back breakfast surrounded by nature.

Then it is time to pack up and travel back to the big city of Johannesburg. The return journey to OR Tambo International Airport takes you along the Panorama Route of Mpumalanga – a mountainous area of incredible natural beauty.

We travel via the Blyde River Canyon, pausing to take in scenic highlights, such as God’s Window, Lisbon Falls and Graskop. Arriving in Johannesburg at about 5h00 this action-packed Kruger Eco Camp Safari finishes and we say farewell.

About the Eco-Camp

This small tented camp offers an authentic South African safari experience at an excellent price. The affordable eco-camp is located just outside of Kruger National Park, the top game park in the country, and the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

This intimate camp features a handful of safari tents set on raised wooden platforms in the bush. Each tent has its own private bathroom nearby, accessed by a well-lit pathway. The walk-in tents are fitted with fans, power-points, basic furnishings and twin beds, complete with linen. Camp facilities include an open-air boma area with a fire-pit, a swimming pool and a thatched dining area. The camp is constructed of natural materials and canvas and operates on gas and solar power, making it a more eco-friendly alternative to mainstream lodges.
