Itinerary for this Tour
Day 1: Kasane to Chobe National Park – Botswana
Your Chobe & Moremi Lodge Safari begins with pickup from the Kasane Airport in northeastern Botswana. From Kasane you are transferred to the first safari lodge, bordering Chobe National Park.
Upon arrival, you can settle into your luxury en-suite room and take a rest. Take a swim in the pool, enjoy lunch and soak up the natural setting of the lodge.
In the late afternoon, we head into the nearby Chobe National Park for our first game viewing adventure – an easy-paced boat cruise with sundowners. Chobe Park is famous for its excellent boat-based game viewing as the Chobe River attracts an abundance of birds and wild animals. Cruising along slowly, we pause to absorb interesting, often close-up, sightings and take photos.
Elephants, hippos, crocodiles, various antelopes, buffalos and other animals are commonly seen on the banks and in the shallows of Chobe River, so stay tuned in. Bird watching along the river is also exceptional, with African fish eagles being spotted frequently.
The game viewing cruise is followed by dinner and leisure time at our lodge near Chobe. Retire to your luxury room at the end of the day for a comfortable night’s sleep.
- Accommodation: Chobe Safari Lodge (or Chobe Bush Lodge), including meals, activities as per itinerary, laundry and local beverages.
- Meals include: Lunch & Dinner
- Included activities: Chobe boat cruise (includes park fees)
Day 2: Chobe National Park – Botswana
Our second day on safari kicks off bright and early, starting with a 4×4 game drive in Chobe Park.
During the cool hours of the early morning, many of the birds and animals become more active, making this an excellent time for game viewing. Chobe Park incorporates about 11 700 km² of beautiful wilderness habitat, ranging from open grasslands and lush floodplains to dense woodlands.
We are extremely likely to see elephants as Chobe is famous for its massive elephant population, hosting one of the highest concentrations of elephants in the world. Zebra, giraffe, warthog, hyenas, cheetahs and the remaining members of the Big Five – leopard, lion and rhinoceros. Herds of buffalos and antelopes are commonly sighted too, including sable and impala. Other antelope species that we may see include kudu, wildebeest, tsessebe, roan, bushbuck, waterbuck, puku and more.
After our game drive, we retreat to the lodge to have lunch and rest during the hottest part of the day. This afternoon we embark on a relaxing boat cruise along Chobe River, again enjoying sundowners along the way. Chobe Park is home to over 450 bird species so keep an eye out for the amazing array of birds to be found here. Watching a blissful sunset from the boat is an ideal way to end the day.
This evening dinner is served at the lodge, followed by free time at the bar and around the campfire.

The third night at Chobe Safari Lodge (or Chobe Bush Lodge) includes an optional visit (unguided) to Victoria Falls, in place of the included game viewing activities. Alternatively, if you opt not to visit Vic Falls, the additional night includes a morning game drive and sunset boat cruise, as well as meals, local beverages, park fees and accommodation.
Day 3 & 4: Okavango Delta & Moremi Game Reserve – Botswana
Day three begins with a final game drive in Chobe, heading into the bush in our 4×4 vehicle as the birds and wildlife begin to stir. We may see predators retreating after a night of hunting and various herbivores emerging from hiding.
Our last exploration of Chobe is followed by breakfast back at the lodge beside Chobe River. After breakfast, we pack up and transfer to the Kasane airstrip and board our charter flight to the Delta airstrip near Moremi. Touching down in the beautiful Okavango Delta, you are taken to our next lodge on a secluded island amid the watery channels of Moremi. Arriving at camp, lunch is served. Then you are free to rest and settle in, admiring the seasonal floodplains surrounding the lodge.
Later, we embark on our first wild adventure in the Okavango Delta! Set off on a guided bush walk with your experienced guide, getting a closer look at the plants, animals and insects of the wilderness. Both camps are able to offer bush walks throughout the year, so this is a great way to explore in any season.
Or, take a mokoro trip on the tranquil waterways of the delta. Mekoros are the traditional canoes used in the wetlands of northern Botswana, originally carved from wood. On mokoro trips, you sit back and take in the scenery as your guide poles the vessel gently through the waters, similar to a gondolier. Alternatively, we set off into the estuarine system by boat. Mokoro trips and boat rides are usually possible year-round in the south central part of the Okavango Delta, where both camps are located. The water-based activities are however dependent on water levels, which do fluctuate with the seasons.
The whole of day four is spent exploring the Moremi Game Reserve and the neighbouring private concession area. Moremi is world-renowned as an outstanding wildlife destination, hosting an incredible diversity and concentration of wild animals, birds and plants. We enjoy a combination of game walks, boat rides and mokoro trips in this magical part of the delta today.
Both of the Delta camps offer optional fishing trips in season and bird watching. Longer mokoro trips with picnic lunches can be arranged at either camp when water levels are high enough for extended exploration.
- Accommodation: Moremi Crossing (or Gunn’s Camp)
- Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
- Included activities: Bush walks, boat trips & mokoro rides
- Optional activities: fishing, bird watching & extended mokoro trips
Day 5: Moremi to Maun – Botswana
On our last morning in the unspoilt Okavango Delta, we wake up early for a final exploration of Moremi Game Reserve or the private concession in the region.
We set off into the bush on a final game walk or glide along the delta channels in mekoros or boats. The activity options will be determined by flight departure times. After our morning activity, we return to the camp for breakfast overlooking the peaceful delta. Then it is time to bid farewell to the pristine Okavango Delta, catching your flight to Maun.
- Meals included: Breakfast
- Activities included: Bush walk or boat trip or mokoro ride
